Professional Graphic Design Diploma – Part C – Section 1: Developing More Designer Skills – Mod: 9

At this stage we will now venture into encouraging you to further develop your designer skills by introducing the two other functioning members of the Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

In fact, it would be remiss of us if we failed to do so, because design professionals need to know how to apply both programs to their work to achieve optimal results.

Although you may be able to get away with doing simple drawings within InDesign, there is no way that imagery can be prepared appropriately and professionally within InDesign.

Soooo… in simple terms, Illustrator facilitates the creation of more appropriate, sophisticated and versatile vector based drawings for professional purposes, while Photoshop enables fine image preparation by retouching, repairing, deep etching and overlaying to enhance design quality.

We hope that you have fun learning and playing with both.
